The successful implementation of Mo.Na Project is to effectively contribute to sustainable management of natural and cultural resources in participating locations. Additionally, participants will be able to jointly assess and pilot new ways of mitigating the negative impacts of high numbers of visitors and their traffic and of managing the locations’ carrying capacity. Finally, structured feedback information will be made available to other similar areas with common features in Southeast Europe, by evaluating both positive and negative effects and utilising the knowledge and particular experience of the areas selected that was gained in regard to overcoming their common territorial challenges in the Balkan-Mediterranean region.
The new tool “Brand for the promotion and protection of the natural and cultural environment”, combined with the network's efforts, will ultimately contribute towards enhancing the pilot areas’ valorisation, promotion and added value creation from their natural and cultural heritage.
